IS TUITION PRO-RATED?

Umbrella School enrollment and tuition is required in full for a year, regardless of however late in the school year students are enrolled;  therefore Umbrella School tuition is not pro-rated.  Tuition for Campus School tuition is pro-rated according to enrollment date.

IS TUITION A CHARITABLE DONATION?
We are asked this question often enough to post this notice: payment of CIAS tuition does not qualify as a charitable donation because it is a contribution from which you benefit.

According to the IRS, "You cannot deduct as a charitable contribution amounts you pay as tuition even if you pay them for children to attend parochial schools or qualifying nonprofit daycare centers. You also cannot deduct any fixed amount you must pay in addition to, or instead of, tuition to enroll in a private school, even if it is designated as a 'donation'."

CAMPUS SCHOOL

Approximately 75% of our student body attends school, group classes, and/or tutoring at the CIAS Campus School. Many students attend full time (five days per week), while others come several days a weeks "Flex/Hybrid" students or enroll in classes.

Campus tuition is to be paid BI-WEEKLY or MONTHLY, and is charged according to how many billable Mondays are in a month. Tuition is due during the week of the second Tuesday of each month. If tuition is not paid by the end of the billable month, a $35 late fee will be applied to a billing invoice.

Tuition accounts must be kept current in agreement with school policies. All normal tuition fees are due, regardless of any absences, excused or unexcused. Official school holidays will not be billed (see the current School Calendar).

If outstanding Campus School tuition is not paid within 30 days of its due date, then student’s attendance may be suspended from CIAS and/or tutoring services will end. Homeschooling should commence and continue until the family can afford to pay the bill in full; at such time, the student may resume attendance at the Campus School. This policy protects our families from accumulating bills that are too high for them to pay.

See the published CIAS Fee Schedule PDF (click the link at the top of this webpage) for a complete list of all services and fees.

CAMPUS SCHOOL vs. UMBRELLA SCHOOL TUITION FEES

Typically, Campus School students and Umbrella School students are not changed the same tuition fees. There are different tuition fees for each type of student.

CHANGING FROM UMBRELLA SCHOOL TO CAMPUS SCHOOL

A student who is enrolled in the CIAS Umbrella School and wishes to start attending the Campus School instead must attend and pay for 2 full days of Campus School before Umbrella School tuition fees can be exchanged for Campus School tuition fees. Attendance, to be considered a Campus School student, includes full school days, not floater days or classes. For instance, attending one day a week as a floater or attending a class at the Campus School does not exempt them from paying Umbrella School tuition fees.

CHANGING FROM CAMPUS SCHOOL TO UMBRELLA SCHOOL

CIAS Campus School students who wish to lower their days of attendance at the Campus School to one day per week or less will afterwards be considered Umbrella School students; the Umbrella School tuition fee will be invoiced at the time that the change/switch occurs.

SENIOR GRADUATION FEES

All tuition bills are to be paid in full before seniors walk in their graduation ceremony and/or transcripts are released.
