"The heir, as long as he is a child, does not differ at all from a slave, though he is master of all; but is under guardians and tutors until the time appointed by the father." Galatians 4:1-2, NKJV

The CIAS Learning Environment
We are often asked to fill a child's specific learning need such as tutoring or testing. Sometimes a family’s lifestyle becomes too busy, unscheduled, or difficult to cover all of the education that their child needs. Often a student needs advanced assistance in a high school course, so their parents need someone who will come along side and "lift up their arms", as Aaron and Hur did for Moses when he was weary (Exodus 17:12). According to Galatians 4:1-2 and Hebrews 12:12, CIAS now provides several different services to meet these needs:

  • Full-time Students
  • Day Students
  • Half-day Students
  • Diagnostic Testing
  • Achievement Testing
  • Tutoring Lessons

The CIAS campus school hosts students in grades 4-12 four days per week, Monday through Thursday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Students may attend school at the campus from one to four days per week, depending on their family's schedule and the availability of slots open during a semester. Parents provide all school books, curriculum, lessons plan book, and school supplies. Each student works on the curriculum and schoolbooks prescribed for his or her individual learning needs and abilities, so the curriculum choice varies. Generally, the student's lesson plan book is logged in with daily schoolwork assignments to be completed during the week. This paces them through their schoolwork and helps busy moms with full schedules. Students also receive individual tutoring if needed. They are expected to complete their studies at home on Friday's or any other day they do not attend school on campus. The learning environment at CIAS is much like a home school. Students work at a variety of desks, sofas, and tables, depending on their learning mode. Tutors have specific areas in which they work; students work quietly on their assigned schoolwork unless they are being tutored. Continued enrollment is probationary and dependent upon whether students fit into our learning environment smoothly. We also provide a limited number of lesson planning appointments for families who want or need more accountability with their home school program.
