SCIENCE LABS CIAS hosts an annual Biology Dissection lab This year, it is on Tuesday & Wednesday, November 4 & 5, 2008, from 9 AM until 2 PM. Class fee: $45 (includes) specimen kit. Sign up before October 17, 2008. Bring your own lunch! A vocabulary & diagram study sheet is mailed out in October to all students who are preregistered. The state of Florida requires all high school students to complete science laboratory experiments as an integral part of their science education. Two substantial labs are required for scholarship application. CIAS hosts a seven-specimen biology dissection lab the first week in November of the fall semester. We dissect the following specimens: Frog Earthworm Perch Crayfish Clam Starfish Embryo pig Class size is limited to 20 students; call early to make reservations! We use certified NASCO dissection specimens. CIAS provides VHS or DVD labs at our campus school for students who are using the ACE/School of Tomorrow curricula for the following courses: biology, physical science, and chemistry. Call the office to arrange a time to view them at the CIAS Campus. Labs are $5 per viewing of videos, and students may complete as many labs as they like.
