CIAS Information & Policies

PARENT & STUDENT INTERVIEW
The parent and student interview consists of a get-to-know-you forum, a review of student academic records, a curriculum consultation, and a review of CIAS policies and teacher's agreement.  No participants in an interview are required, bound, or held to enrolling in CIAS.  There is a $25 fee for an interview, which is applicable to cover one student's enrollment fee upon enrollment in CIAS.

CURRICULUM CHOICE
CIAS retains the right to evaluate the various curriculums that our families use.  We have worked with most curriculums on the market and are familiar with most of their pros and cons.  Depending on your child's learning style or mode, curriculum choice could even vary within your family.  Curriculums that are acceptable would include the following: A Beka, Bob Jones, HomeSAT, School of Tomorrow Paces, Alpha Omega LifePacs, Switched on Schoolhouse,  Christian Liberty Academy Satellite School, Christian Light Education, Rod & Staff, Pathway, Calvert, Sonlight, Charlotte Mason's classical approach, unit studies (especially on the elementary level), and others not listed.  The only educational method that we do not approve or allow is "unschooling".

SCHOOL CALENDAR
Our school year at CIAS begins August 1 and ends July 31.  This enables flexibility to individual home schedules.   Your school calendar will vary according to your personal observance of holidays, birthdays, vacations, celebrations, reunions, or sick days. We admit students at all times during the school year and do not have a cutoff date.

GRADE REPORT CARDS
Computerized report cards are sent to every enrolled student in CIAS after they have turned in each quarter's grade and attendance reports.

STUDENT AND TEACHER ID'S
All students & parent/teachers in CIAS receive ID cards for each school year. Many stores will honor Student ID cards or Teacher ID cards and give discounts for a wide variety of merchandise.
